Sacramento Sportfishing Guides uses the best in boats and equipment. Our vessels are clean and in top operating condition to ensure a pleasurable fishing experience. Our rods and reels are top quality and selected specifically to enhance your fishing, whether we are trolling, jigging, bait fishing or back trolling; you will know the equipment is right for you. 

BOATS
Sacramento Delta - " Sportfish I ", a 24 foot Bayliner Trophy powered by Volvo Penta, equipped with the latest electronics, Lowrance LMS 350A-GPS, Lowrance X16 computerized sonar chart recorder, Raytheon radar, and VFH radios, and Eagle Fish Locators. The boat is partially covered for your protection from the wind and rain. However, a large open deck offers amble room for fighting a fish.  The boat is equipped with all the latest safety gear required by the United States Coast Guard. For your convenience, the boat provides a private port-a-potty.

Upper Sacramento River - " Sportfish II ", a 20 foot Jetcraft, shallow water vessel. An aluminum boat with an inboard engine and a jet drive designed to navigate into the shallowest water less than a foot deep. We use a Lowrance LMS 350A-GPS, VHF radios, a Mercury 9.9 trolling motor as well as an electric trolling motor. The boat offers a large open deck with a center console for ease of fishing for white water salmon and steelhead. The boat is equipped with all the latest safety gear required by the United States Coast Guard. 

FISHING TACKLE
Rods - Our rods come from Berkley, makers of "The Pulse" one of the finest rods on the market. You've never felt anything like "The Pulse" engineered to be 20% lighter and 7% smaller diameter for the maximum in sensitivity. The unique reel seat creates the "The Zone" an area which amplifies the feel of fish biting. Premium guide cork handles are contoured for comfort and special guide placement to increase sensitivity and casting distance. We also use Berkley Select Air IM7, advanced modulus graphite as well as Berkley Select Hank Parker signature series.

Reels - Our reels come from Abu Garcia, makers of Ambassadeur reels. Ambassadeur have earned their legendary reputation by catching more fish, winning more tournaments, and setting more records than any other baitcast reels in history. That's why we use them! We also use Diawa sealine SG27LC direct drive line counter reels for trolling and mooching.

Fishing Line - Our fishing line comes from Berkley, makers of fishing's fastest, most powerful line, Berkley Fireline. The line is nearly three times as strong as mono and stronger than the super braids. It has unmatched sensitivity, instantaneous strike detection, bait responds instantly for better action, quicker and more powerful hooksets and superior control overperformance of lures. The line is great for handling running fish, eliminating line bow and getting baits down quickly to where fish bite. We also use Berkley's Trilene Big Game to meet the tough demands of fishing because it is super strong, shock resistant, tough and abrasion resistant and has superior fighting power. Plus it's made in America.

Lures - Our lures include Luhr-Jensen, makers of a variety of quality lures for fishing the premier fishing hot spots. Luhr-Jensen is known as "Where the Legends Live". Some of the lures we use include Kwikfish K14, K15 and K16. These lures are great for backtrolling for Salmon, with dozens of colors and finishes. They also feature VMC super-sharp cone cut hooks that don't let go when the fish bite. We also use power trolling plugs like the Hot Lips Express and power dive minnows. Additionally, we use Crippled Herrings, Pet Spoons, J-plugs, Hot Shots, Dodgers, and Jet Divers.
